With the presidential election results still pending, many Americans have faithfully watched the news with growing anxiety. I am not one of the Americans because I did not need anything to add to my own anxieties. I did my part, and there is nothing I can do at this point to change the outcome either way. This does not mean that I am not concerned about the outcome, but not watching the news or my social media feed for updates (I have checked a few times while typing this, though!) If I could only adopt this attitude to my life!
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of righteousness
Isaiah 41:10
The Bible, King James Version
There is a meme that states, Fear not is mentioned 365 times in the Bible as a daily reminder. Naturally, I believed it. Why would people lie in a meme?? When I read that, I was 🤯. Rick Warren, pastor of the Saddleback Church and author of The Purpose Driven Life seems to have been the originator of this tally. If this is fact, the realization should give a boost of confidence but also bring understanding to the importance of walking and living without fear.
I wore my Beacon Thread’s Fear Not t-shirt to work yesterday as a reminder. I had a choice of not only if I wanted to vote, but for the 1st time, when. I voted early. We are given a choice every day. Doing my part can influence the outcome but not change it once it happens. I spend more time trying to avoid missteps that it stalls me. Failure is not unavoidable but fear is.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love
1 John 4:18
The Bible, King James Version
Walking in love leaves no room for fear. Knowing that God’s got me regardless of the movement I make is progress. The desire to make the perfect move is the furthest thing from perfection. Fear is torment, dread, and painful. Love is perfect. The name of this blog is One Love (a new name is potentially in the works) as a avenue to express the culmination of things I love; as an effort to share and express the unity that love brings. The fight for me to daily choose love over fear is a fight.
Give love. Get love.
