I Love God · I love Me

Seventeen

I am confident that my spirituality and curiosity has lead to my belief in the power of numbers. A simple walk or skim through the Bible will show their eternal significance:

  • Genesis – God created the world in 6 days and rested on day 7
  • Exodus – Pharoah killed the 1st born
  • The book of Numbers
  • Deuteronomy – the Ten Commandments
  • Joshua – 7 trips around the walls of Jericho
  • Daniel – 3 days in the lion’s den
  • Matthew – Jesus fast for 40 days
  • The Gospels – Jesus chose 12 disciples
  • Galatians – 9 fruits of the Spirit
  • Revelation – 4 and 20 elders

The list goes on and is much more extensive than what I can cover in one simple blog post. But one number that is significant to me is the 17. I was born on the 17th day of July – 7/17. For the past several weeks, I have noticed that I seem to catch 7:17 on a clock. At first, I thought it was a coincidence, but now it happens just about every day. I know that people say to make a wish at 11:11 but what do I at 7:17. It makes me smile. I have tried to figure it out and have settled on the conclusion that I am just on the mind of God.

I have mentioned in a previous birthday post about the meaning of 17. It is the number of victory. Maybe God is sending me reminders of my victory or the victory that he has given me. There is a prayer by Dr. Matthew Stevenson where he says, “God does not lend it, He gives it. He gives us the victory.” 1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all. (New King James Version) Meaning once God gave it, it cannot be repaid or returned, and He can give it because He owns it. Maybe the constant “coincidence” (I don’t think God works with coincidence but distinction) is that I have the victory over every single situation and stressor.

The 17th days of May and October are important because they are the birthdates of my nephew and my Goddaughter. Of course, I feel a special connection to them because of this small, again, coincidence. And I am praying that they walk in every level of victory predestined for them.

For those that choose to read my 17th #bloglikecrazy post, I pray victorious living for you!

Give love. Get love.
