I have a friend; she’s really like a sister who amid transitions. She is preparing for the birth of her second child. This newness of life is leading her to make choices concerning her desire to become self-employed as a choreographic entrepreneur (if such term exist). She is working on the 2nd year of her annual Christmas production. She is also in the midst of retiring from a position that, in my opinion, helped define her dance legacy.

Per this definition, my sister/friend has a rich, prolific legacy. Her intellectual property is invaluable. When I think back on the songs she has been able to personify, I am amazed to know her. She has added songs to my soulful database that have carried me through some rough and some pleasant times. For that alone, I am grateful.
I have had the pleasure of witnessing her progress from her home studio to building a dance company. Her tenacity and bravery are astounding. Because of all of her current changes, the word legacy carries so much weight and meaning. I have never met anyone like her and probably never will.
It is the adjective definition that, even though it is a technical term that applies to computing, it fits her and her situation perfectly. Her movements, love for people, and the culture she is creating will be challenging to surpass because it cannot be replaced. She has planted seeds of destiny across the country, so her growth cannot be denied.
I hope to provide more details of her story soon but I wanted to dedicate this post to the beauty of her strength; the grace of her stride; the dance of her destiny.
Give love. Get love.
